Jakob Masterson, Lord Knight of the Shield, Grand Knight of Obsidian Bay,  commands the Knights of Obsidian Bay, and serves his god Heironeous as a paladin. He is a former member of the Invincibles Guild and a decorated war hero from the time of the Greyhawk Wars. He fought valiantly during the city's fall to the Scarlet Brotherhood, and was one of the last to leave it.

He is the leader of the Knights of the Shield, but also serves as the head of the Knightly Orders, a position which grants him the title "Grand Knight of Obsidian Bay".
