Willard "Wilgard" Thistlebottom, Professional Caravan Guard. His name sums up this cheerful halfling rather well. Born to a village of nomadic halflings, Wilgard knows only the open trails as his home. Following the teachings of Yondalla, he trained hard to help protect the caravans he traveled with. Generally, most travelers don't even know Wilgard is with them. This is due to his favored posistion being the top of the lead caravan. From there, he can look ahead for trouble, and even fight using his ranseur. He has found this to be a particular advantage, as few thieves expect him to be as formidable as he is.

He simply signs on for a caravan job, rides it till then end, and then repeats the process, generally favoring halfling caravans, as he enjoys the company of his people. His most recent journey has brought him to the bleak land of Barovia. Tales of caravans having a hard time making it to this village intrigued him. After learning that the lord of this land has perhaps been corrupted himself, Wilgard has decided to join up with a group of adventurers in order to improve the safe travels for future caravans.

Willard "Wilgard" Thistlebottom, Professional Caravan Guard. His name sums up this cheerful halfling rather well.
