What Has Come Before

Thom, Corash, Kerth, Vargas and Salsar have just captured wand of wonder-wielding monkey who was the polymorphed form of the magister Eldton, advisor to Lord Holder Orman. They are now taking some time spend their rewards, and to contemplate what sorts of magic items they'd like to have made by Eldton (who offered to do so as his personal reward for being saved from life as a monkey)

A Ghostly Hand

The elven mage Corash, eager to learn new arcane spells, asked his compatriot Thom Silverbow to use his contacts in the turn up possible sellers of such knowledge. The bard successfully found a deal in the form of the mage Esseni, a self-absorbed mage fanatically obsessed with crafting magical devices and constructs and member of the Order of the Broken Staff. Corash sought out Esseni, who reluctantly admitted that he had spells for sale, but -- seeing the mage's elven features -- began offering a plethora of magic items in exchange the elf's freely given body parts. Corash balked, seeing the sorry state of Esseni's half-golem man-servant Ratrold, but ultimately was tempted into exchanging his hand for a new, magical one (which the artificer identified as The Ghost Hand of Essini), and the addition of a spellbook with several of the arcane writings he had sought (known in magical circles as An Introduction to Arcane Envisioning).

The Persuaders

Salsar decided to form his own mercenary association. He found Wulfstan Turoc (Bar1/Ftr 3) and several disgruntled Sellswords at the Dagger Down, and managed to convince them to join up with him. He fought Wulfstan for control of the group and lost. He's now Wulfstan's second, and actively looking for new businesses and undertakings. The first of these was a certain job for the Guild of Messengers for its Guildmaster, Ordo; the second was to aid Kerth and Prug in dealing with the Earth Dragons in the Mudsitters District

Joining the Guild of Wizardry

Vargas, the shadowmancer's aristocratic apprentice, with a helpful note from his master Saheed Darksteel, joined the Guild of Wizardry.

The Tentacled Child

Kerth and Prug went looking for people to help in the Mudsitters District and found a woman screaming in agony while trying to deliver a baby. The midwife there damned him for interfering, and when the child was born a bizarre, tentacled monstrocity, she claimed it was the displeasure of the Earth Dragon. The Pelorite left, and the child was taken to Temple of the Earth Dragon.

Kerth later returned to the Mudsitters District with Prug and their allies Prug, Corash, Salzar and Vargas to confront the Temple of the Earth Dragon. Before they could do so, they were set upon by the selfsame midwife and a gang of Temple followers. The party was nearly beaten down when suddenly a group of women warriors joined the fight, and were able to drive off the Dragons. Followed the fight, the leader of the group identified herself as Koronia Sethowen, of the Maidens of the Shield.
