Three Assassins

While recovering in Obsidian Bay, the Blackrazors are approuched by Giles Andirius, who has heard about their exploits in Maure Castle and their battles with undead. He wishes to join the guild, and Dworkin, learning of Giles' roguish abilities, eagerly agrees.

Teleporting directly back to the second level of Maure Castle, known in previous days as Tomorast's Hold, the Blackrazors quickly scout out a hallway they hadn't had the chance to explore previously. In doing so, they find a secret door concealing a passage way to the third level of the dungeon, a region known as Kerzit's Fane.

Taking the stairs down they find an shrieking purple fungus ready to explode, but quickly silence it. Continuing their explorations they soon find a torture chamber with three leather-clad assassins working on a bound githyanki woman. The fight ensuing fight sees all of the rogues killed, despite their best effort to poison and cheat their way out of death.

The prisoners are revealed as Rollo, a crass fighter and a former member of the Seeker Guild who offered some brief insights into the nature of Kerzit's Fane, it's warring factions of gnolls and human cultists of Kerzit, and some idea of how the members of his guild came to guard the first and second levels of the dungeon.

Once freed by the wary Blackrazors, Aan’achi reveals herself to be a renegade worshipper of Olidammara forced to flee her own society as an abomination of, if not goodness, then pure chaos. She explains how she accidentally planeshifted herself into the dungeon and was caught by the cultists; though skeptical, the adventurers come to accept her story.

The last prisoner, Rexus Kirian, proves to be a former merchant, insane with pain. Unable to help him, the Blackrazors decide to take him to

The Raging Varrangoins

After defeating the cultists, the Blackrazors quickly teleported back to Obsidian Bay to release and heal the prisoners. After a single night's rest, they teleported back to the dungeon, appearing just inside the 3rd floor stairwell they had exited before. This time, they found more dangerous guardians waiting for them: powerful demons. Fortunately, they did not have to fight the creatures, as Jakob Dworkin, was able to evoke the will of his god Dalt to banish them fro the Prime.

Turning away from the torture chamber, the adventurers head to the northwest corner of the dungeon, where they find an tall, roughly hexagonal chamber filled with the foulest of droppings. Several feet deep in places, the goo will clearly make traversing the room difficult at best.

Entering the chamber, they soon discovered the source of the stench and slime: demonic varrangoins. The winged creatures, enraged that anyone would enter their lair, immediately attack, and while no hero was killed in the pitched fight that follows, the adventurers were once again forced to retreat from the dungeon.
