The Giants’ Eyes isn't the best inn in Hochoch, but it is one of its most unique.

The inn, located in Hochoch's Merchant District, caters to the city's burgeoning adventurer population. Jars filled with an amber liquid and giant, floating eyes sat on a long, high shelf that wrapped its way around the inn’s interior walls.

It is filled with battle scarred warriors--some missing arms, legs and other body parts: swapping tall tales, launching spit, and slamming back drinks with abandon. Its menu features standard adventurer fair (at least for accomplished adventurers): good steak, good ale, some notable wines, and a few far more eccentric offerings. One of these -- pickled ogre eyes -- were added as a joke in Patchwall, 590.

The joke ended the same month when Blackrazor Guild member Ragnar Blackmane became the first in Geoff (and perhaps all of the Flanaess) to plop down a silver piece for five of the eyeballs. He consumed them happily, proclaiming that they tasted slightly salty and extremely gooey. Soon after Blackrazor redshirts arrived, saw him eating them, and joined the barbarian in chowing down.

They didn't do as well -- most vomited at the taste -- but the entire incident served to boost the inn's reputation even further.

The inn was badly damaged during the Night of Storms in CY 591, when giants attacked Hochoch and tried to take revenge agains the inn's owner. Their efforts were stymied by the inn's patrons however, and it is expected the inn will be fully repaired in the near future. In the meantime, the giant-damage only adds to the mood of the place.
