Drawn to the magical ziggurat in Greyhawk, location of the Guild of Wizardry, by a magical stone. Meet with a wizard Angrin, who has a master stone which he bought off a merchant and inadvertently activated its “recall” power.

Angrin took the party to an inn, where they discuss the nature of the stones. Angrin explains how he acquired his, and notes that the rune seems related to ancient Flan runes. The ranger determines it was related to Beory. Angrin proposes having a scribe – Poros, in Clerksberg -- versed in Flan lore examine the rune stones.

Angrin lives to continue his research, while the new-found collegues, after some balking, head to Clerksberg.

Get to the shop, find it closed. Godfrey deftly picks the lock, but is unable to convince his collegues (aside from Durin) to go inside and investigate. Godfrey asks around. Learn Angrin is an old, non-native man who teaches at Grey College whose shop was open earlier in the day.

Talk to the registrar, who proves unhelpful.

Go back to the pyramid, meet dwarves, who say Angrin isn’t around. Go back to old tavern to wait for Angrin. Angrin sends a note saying he couldn’t meet the party. Return to the shop, find it still closed.

Durin and Godfrey convince party to do a little breaking and entering. Party sets up watches while Godfrey goes to work. He unlocks the door and then the rogue and Soloth slide in.

Front room wasn’t disturbed. After calling out, go into the backroom and find it in total disarray. Head upstairs but find nothing disturbed. Head back down, find papers talking about Flan rituals. Find something about champion stones. Learn that if touch stones together, and dripping blood on them, they become keyed to one another.

Godfrey summons Hanros, meanwhile Soloth continues search and finds drips of bloods. Decide to withdraw, and stay silent about what they find. Next day they intend to report they found nothing.

Party retires to the Green Dragon Inn for the night.
