Pierce Haligarth

Overview

Pierce is part confidence man, part burglar. Prior to his time in Barovia, His modus operandi was to charm/fast talk his way into a residence using one of his man disguises, case the establishment, then return a few days later to steal whatever he had his eye on.

His time in the realm of Ravenloft changed him however. His near-death at the hands of ravenous undead a mere day after entering the realm taught that he hadn't learned everything he needed to know to survive, at least not there. It sent him down the path of the mage, and he began studying spellcraft with the help of the wizard and adventuring companion Nellis.

His fear of the undead, and resolve to destroy them before they killed him, led him to join the Lightbringer Guild along with another of his adventuring companions, the cleric of Daern named Donegal. Donegal never did approve of Pierce's methods (or Pierce for that matter).

Sadly, Donegal died seeking the Amulet of Ravenkind, which left Pierce to wonder who he was going to annoy for the rest of his time in Ravenloft. The death of the stalwart cleric affected Pierce greatly however, and afterwards, the rogue took his duties to the guild more seriously ... and made it a personal priority to destroy Count Strahd (or, Pierce being Pierce, at least help others destroy Count Strahd).
