Gimble originated from the Gnarley Forest bordering the Wild Coast, in one of the many, small gnomish communities. He was studying the ancient and revered art of illusion when his village was attacked by a particularly aggressive band of Ettercaps & giant spiders, wiping out his family & friends. He was the lone survivor. Determined to not let this deed scar his life, he decided to wander to see where life could take him, & what sights he could see. Eventually he made it to Saltmarsh, and is ready for what is to come...
Having grown up in his woodland home, Gimble is skilled at survival in the forests, is a skilled hunter & trapmaker. But magic & illusion is his calling, & collects whatever unusual magical (or not so magical) treasures he can find to add to his collection. Given his rustic origins, money has little value for him.
Gimble's End
Gimble ultimately met his end fighting a swarm of wasps. The rest of the crew took him back to the ship and preserved his body in a cask of brandy. They also re-named the ship after him: Gimble's Folly.
