The Brewing Bench

After defeating Shyrg the party teleports to Seltaren, to the Brewing Bench Inn. There they meet up with their occasional adventuring companion, Korem Luskur, Chosen Blade of Kelanen, survivor of the Temple of Elemental Evil and veteran Blackrazor. Also waiting them is Aethelwin, a mage of the Wizardholme, recommended by their lorekeeper Alister as a possible adventuring companion. Somewhat short on magical might, with their normal wizard Fallis unavailable for the return, they accept him.

After regaling their companions at the inn with the tale of their great battle, talk turns to establishing a permanent presence in the city. They task Alister with the responsibility of finding a suitable building for the guild.

Armed with this knowledge, and suspicious of yet another set of demonic guardians, the Blackrazors teleported back to Maure Castle. They arrived in what had previously been the lair of the sharp-clawed demons known as colchilns. Instead of demons, they found themselves nearly overwhelmed by a damning darkness that pounded them with waves of pain. Deeper in the darkness they could hear the chattering of teeth, and when Aethelwin managed to dispel the darkness they found its source: an animated skull floating in the middle of the room. They promptly destroyed it, following standard Blackrazor policy for newly discovered evil skulls.

Venturing deeper into the dungeons, the Blackrazors started exploring the now-abandoned barracks of the Cult of Kerzit but Giles is ambushed by
