Welgen is an experienced inquisitor and a devout follower of Rao. He is good natured, if strict, individual who doesn’t like to see bad things happen to good people. While he absolutely adheres to the letter of the law, he believes in the fundamental goodness of law-abiding people, and thus, tends to be a little more open minded than some of his fellow Inquisitors.
That said, he will always use his spells to back up his hunches, and in cases involving serious crimes – particularly murder – he will always use them to ensure that the suspects are telling the truth.
