About the Saga

The Persuaders run up against someone who's mind they can not change, the Pelorites seek the cure for contamination in the Mudsitters District, and the Earth Dragons seethe over a crime committed against one of their own.

What Has Come Before

The heroes have discovered that a cistern in the Mudsitters District has been contaminated by a foul toxin, one that can only be removed by the a powerful neutralize poison spell augmented by the tongue of the naga. The Church of Pelor can craft the the antidote, but needs someone to record the naga tongue.

At the same time, a mutated baby was found in the Dragon Ward, wisked away by the Earth Dragons, and then stolen from their temple by unknown arcane spellcasters, causing the Temple to turn their wrath on those they consider the most likely suspects: the guild of Wizardry.

As the Dragons seeth, the Messengers Guild has begun a war against the various freelancers in the city, a war that will soon cost the lives of two Persuaders...

The Saga

Harvester 25

Wind and Vargas go to the Temple of the Earth Dragon and are baptized with volcanic ash and oil, honored for the visions. They sense that the Earth Dragon is actually a presence within the Temple, which freaks out Wind. They report back to the Wizards Guild, who are alarmed by the validity of the Earth Dragon, and its presumed power.

They meet up with the Persuaders at the Dagger Down, where Salsar explains that "concerned citizens" have hired the group to tell the Messengers Guild to back off. Wind and Salsar leave to shake down the Messengers Guild. They confront Ordo, saying he must stop or be ... persuaded. The gnome -- and his hulking ogre bodyguard -- are not impressed. A fight breaks out, and while they try their best, they are slaughtered by the Messengers. That night, unaware, Corash learns his second level spell.

Harvester 26

Next day Gruffud starts researching mages interested in psionics, finds a possible lead in the form of Belgold Pegason. He then heads to the Golden Swordsman Academy to formally accept his position as a teacher. Kerth sells his Pelorite breastplate to the Pelorites. Corash learns his third level spell. Maidens of the Shield take to patrolling the areas around the Earth Dragon compound.

Harvester 27

Gruffud meets aristocrat boys at academy, some interested in learning to fight duels. On in particular, Arvin Rauford, seeks to learn all he can ... and plans to duel at the earliest opportunity. Gruffud cautions him against this. Salsar's head "delivered" to Wulfstad's apartment at the Dagger Down.

Harvester 28

Gruffud and Thom investigate reports of gnomes who badly beaten up investigating and UnderOerth. Pelor agrees to fund expedition between goldseekers and pelorites to retrieve lost gems and find naga tongue from the underground passage way known as the Southern Arc. The Pelorites will pay 100 up front, 100 on successful conclusion. Gives potions of cure moderate and neutralize poison.

Brewfest 2

Gruffud fights in the academy's competition, handedly beating two other instructors.

Brewfest 3

The naga expedition leaves, and is comprised of:

  • Thom Silverbow
  • Gryyffud Castlemain
  • Kerth Greenfield
  • Absalom
  • Corash

They are joined by The Goldseekers trapfinder Thargo, a dwarf who was part of the original guild expedition to the Southern Arc. As it leaves, Thom begins crafting song "Where has the wind gone?"

Brewfest 5

After seeing smoke rising on the horizon, they head to the still-smoldering town of Darson's Culvert, where they meet the town's mayor and a new paladin, Fawkes. They also learn of a dire threat against the town in the form of a chimera who has been attacking and feasting on people and livestock.

Brewfest 6

The heroes fight the chimera, killing it with the assistance of the strange, otherworldly-seeming paladin named Sir Fawkes. Chop of chimera's dragon head to harvest for scales. As they stand over the body of their fallen foe, they meet another traveller, Calarandil, an elven blademaster eager to try his skilla gainst some new and dangerous foes.
