A druid with a homicidal blood rage, Absalom worships and venerates water in all its forms. He was not always this way -- he was once a shepherd in lands far to the west, but eventually an interest in herbalism drew him to the civilized lands of the Flanaess. There he found his way to Obsidian Bay, where somewhat unexpectedly he found himself working as a street guide to earn the funds he needed to survive in the city.
This continued until he found a patron in the form of the aristocratic mage Vargas, and in adventures with him he developed a deeper understanding of the mystic powers of water, and choose to embrace it fully. He played a role in the destruction of the gang of murders known as the Bloody Axes in CY 591, and was killed shortly there after while fighting demonically tainted monstrous crabs that were attacking the settlement of Coral Bend.
To his amazement, and that of his adventuring friends, some strange, mystical force brought him back to life, and filled his mind with all manner of foretellings involving the eventual destruction of Obsidian Bay. He also returned changed, with new aquatic traits such as blue-tinged skin, gills, and the ability to breath underwater. After returning to Obsidian Bay form Coral Bend, he disappeared, perhaps to investigate the prophesies revealed to him, perhaps the victim of one of the forces foretold.
His last known research was on the Lost Caverns of Boremei.
