The Citizens Guard is a volunteer militia called to service when Obsidian Bay finds itself in need. The founding of the organization was spearheaded by the Invincibles Guild after the success of the "Little Wars". To this day the Invincibles still hold many of the Guard's leadership roles.
The Guard has proven it's worth several times during the city's history, including the Battle of Blue and the War of Exile.
Note: the Citizens Guard should not to be confused with the Obsidian Bay Expeditionary Force. While both are raised by volunteers from the cities adventuring guilds, the guard is raised when needed, where the Expeditionary Force is a standing force.
