Bright Lights, Dark City

Garth arrives in the city, and wonders why he has to live out the next 15-20 years in the city. He presents idea and proceeds further into the city looking for the Shrine of Ulaa.

Seamus Fisher, up from Coral Cove to buy supplies, walks down the main street. The teenage-thief Kolborg Drammenmark catches sight of him, and decides he’s an easy mark. He’s wrong, as he bungles the attempt, drawing the attention Seamus, who cries thief. Kolborg starts running.

Seamus follows, and the two head into an alley, against Seamus's better judgment. Darting into the next street, Kolborg flies past a guard. Seamus stops at the guard yelling “He’s trying to get my money pouch!”.

“Why would he want your money pouch?” the guard asks, but then decides to follow him.

Kolborg runs hard, jumping over a gnome (namely Garth), tries (and fails) to overturn a cart, and is pursued by the guard and the gnome who demands an apology. He hopes to find a bunch of street urchins to try and get away from the guard. He turns into a side street as the guard fires a crossbow bolt, which misses. Kolborg finally escapes.

Meanwhile, back at the cart, Seamus meets up with Erithacus, and they get to talking about travelling to the city, buying supplies, and the surprising number of pickpockets and layabouts..

Garth catches up with guard, who wonders where Kolborg went.

Kolborg wanders back, disguises himself, finds Seamus and starts begging him for coins to feed his starving family. “It’s been ever so long since they’ve eaten…”

Purely Evil?

Meanwhile, Geminal the Pure tries to lure a fellow rouge, making himself look like a Cuthbertian rube. As the mark gets closer, he tries to stab him. Misses and then starts shouting “thief, thief” while holding the holy symbol of Saint Cuthbert. The other rogue turns and runs after seeing that his knife was clearly outclassed by Geminal’s short sword. As the rogue runs, Geminal throws a dagger at him, but misses.

Coppers from Ulaa

“Who is this “ukla” of which you speak.” Kolborg says and tries to convince the gnome that he’s being sincere and fails. But they still go to the Shrine of Ulaa, with it’s bare earth shrine and granite statue of ulaa.

At the same time, Geminal the Pure looks for another mark. He lures a woman rogue close, and kills her. This draws the attention of a guard and Erithacus who sees him. He says he has to go to the Bastian of St. Cuthbert.

Geminal walks with guard, body and Ferdiad. When they encounter a cart, Geminal runs.

Honoring Krovis

Ferdiad, a worshipper of Krovis, visits the shrine of Krovis, then talks with a commoner asking about Trithereon. They send him to the Temple of Pursuit, where they happily introduce him to the ways of Trithereon and Krovis, while Corin’s followers protest across the way.

Seamus goes to buy goods from merchant. Explains that Coral Cove is training militia to deal with orcs and lobstrocities.

Geminal decides to head to the Temple of Pursuit seeking out jobs finding evil doers. He learns they do need help seeking out another poisoned well in the Mudsitters District. They say an herbalist shop might know what’s going on. Geminal decides to investigate. Ferdiad over sees this, and decides to help.

The Black Taint

Kolborg returns to Mudsitters District, distributes copper to beggers, learns of Black Taint, a strange poison that seems to have seeped into a well frequented by Mudsitters outside of the city. He goes to it. Sees well, learns that its at the corner of Wide and Meadme Streets. He climbs down and inspects well, finds clean looking water.

Find the shop, called Roots and Remedies, which has a bunch of townspeople and kids lined up outside. Kolgord tries to get in, but gets turned away. Geminal arrives, muscles his way in. Kolgord follows him in, recognizing him as the guy who escaped a guard earlier. They question the herbalist who explains there’s a fungus growing in the well.

The two rogues then duck out, seeking to learn more about the poison elsewhere in the city. Meanwhile, Ferdiad, who had followed them to the shop, recognizes Geminal the Pure as someone wanted buy the guard, and proceeds to report him to the barracks in the Griffins District.
