A band of mercenaries that operated out of Bellport in Northern Aerdy.

The Grindsmen had been a band of slavers operating between Bellport and Eastfair in Northern Aerdy before it's operations were smashed by the proto-Blackrazors.

They subsequently became a mercenary band who's major goal was to hunt down and slay those who had so embarrassed them befor (and claim the significant bounties on the heads of the Blackrazors).

In CY 590 when they finally caught up with the Blackrazor Guild, launching an attack against the Blackrazor Guildhall. It failed, and a subsequent counter-raid by the Blackrazors against the Grindsmen in Northern Aerdy decimated their ranks. The group is no longer believed to be active, but it has proven resiliant in the past.

Calvin Cloudmore, a cleric of St.Cuthbert, was a thief with the Grindsmen for several years before being captured by -- and swearing his life to -- the proto-Blackrazors. He subsquently became a loyal servant of the Blackrazors, and is now a noted leader in the Cuthbertian church in Obsidian Bay.

One of the Blackrazor Guild's weaponmaster, Tempest, was also a former Grindsmen. The mercenary agreed to serve the Blackrazors for one year in exchange for his life.

• Calvin Cloudmore, Billet of St. Cuthbert: A slaver-turned-billet of St. Cuthbert, Cal was a long-time member of the Blackrazor Guild before his death at the hands of a shadow-demon possessed Gaiseric.
• Tempest, a whip-wielding weaponmaster who once served as the guild's weaponmaster after his defeat at their hands when they battled his former masters, the Grindsmen.
