The Saga

Patchwall 17, CY 591

A studier Band

A new band of adventures, consisting of Ferdiad, Zilanderan and Garth, meet up at Roots and Remedies (Ferdiad having been sent there by the church of Trithereon, Zil having been recruited by a messenger, Garth sent by Moriam). Zil makes mention to the Nine. Luarel feels much more confedint in this group's abilities. After securing supplies, they head out to The Tarwood after the first group.

Patchwall 19, CY 591

At the Witch’s Hut

The original band – Erithacus, Christoph and Seamus – investigate a witch hut they were directed to by the woman at Roots & Remedies to try and find “rat tail” herb. They it abandoned. Find cauldren with fey carved into it. Find corpse wrapped up in burial robes, sprouting fuzzy mold.

As Erithacus goes further into the room, the caulderan starts walking awkwardly forward, chomping at him. Pot attacks Eri, biting him, then swallowing him whole.

Cauldron comes charging out and attacks Seamus. He misses with his harpoon and avoids its bite. Chris moves to engage, flanking the creature, which then rings metallically from a blow from Seamus. It regurgitates Eri, then bites and swallows the fisherman. He pummels the creature from inside, it then crunches him, knocking him unconscious.

Christoph is bit again, swallowed and drops unconscious. The cauldron then spits out the rough and turns on Eri, biting him and knocking him unconscious. And now the entire party is down, pummeled into submission.

Lumber Camp

The other three adventures arrive at the lumber camp, ask about those who proceeding them. One guy recognized them, says they talked to Milan. They seek out this lumberjack, ask for directions to the witches hut.

The three hurry along their directions hoping to catch up to the first group. On the way, they run into trouble in the form of a hobgoblin hunter. Unfortunately for the hunter, the three are much tougher than they might look. They quickly dispatch the hobgoblin and his two crow-like pets, then continue on their way.

At the Witch’s Hut (Again)

Ferdiad, Zilanderan and Garth finally make their way to the Witch's Hut. There they find an unconscious Erithacus, Christoph and Seamus. When they heal and rouse the three, Seamus starts talking about being attacked by a pot. The new adventurers are confused by this, but move in on the hut cautiously. To their surprise the cauldron attacks. With the new strength in arms, the group is able to fight off and destroy the cauldron this time.

The group then begins to search the hut for the pickled rats tail. Suddenly, the figure that looked like a bundle of sticks wrapped to look like a person attacks the party. They make short work of it, finding a kobold zombie inside. Finally, they recover the rats tail, and proceed towards the monastery.

Laduguer's Crucible

The next day they make it to the ruins, the site where they hope to find the last ingredient, the iron bloom mushrooms. Cautiously entering the ruins, they find a large courtyard. After looking around a bit, they decide to explore the tower first. Before they can make any headway, they are ambushed by a giant spider. It is however, no match for the party.

They proceed room by room looking for any signs of the final ingredient. As they travel they narrowly avoid falling debris, pry a pair of darkmantles off their companions, fight off a kobold, kill two wolves, and destroy 3 dwarven skeletons. They also find reference to Laduguer, which Garth informs the party is an evil dwarven god generally associated with drugar.

Finally, they come across a room with a collapsed roof. Inside they hear a growling voice refer to them as food. Ferdiad spots and recognizes the creature as a worg, and quickly shuts the door. Unfortunately, the intelligent beast knowns he way around and quickly attacks the party from the rear. The party struggles to fight off the worg, but the beast holds his own, knocking several party members unconscious. In the end, it's a lucky strike that fells the beast. In his lair, they find the mushrooms they saught. Their task complete, they group heads home to find a very greatful Luarel.
