The name of the building that is now the Academy of War has varied over the years, but its purpose has always been the same: to serve the military forces of Obsidian Bay.
In the current age, the renovated and expanded Academy serves as an institute to teach the future protectors of the city. It teaches the fundamentals of knighthood to the three Knightly Orders of Obsidian Bay (the Knights of the Shield, the Knights of the Sword, and the Knights of the Fist). Each order also has its own representative to teach future members the tactics they employ.
Previously known as the Knights Hall the Academy was home to the three Knightly Orders of Obsidian Bay until the completion of the Shield District. It was then that the city decided to build fortifications for each of the three orders.

- Knights of the Sword: The order charged with patrolling and defending the Domain of Obsidian Bay.
