Soledium the Poisoned

When his father, an Obsidian Bay fisherman, was killed by a particularly deadly monstrous jellyfish, Cole Merson decided to dedicate his entire life to understanding and preventing such deaths.

Soledium the Poisoned (Hum Wiz 12) may have survived more poisonings – intentional and unintentional – than anyone in the Flanaess. As a member of the Starfire Guild, he participated in many expeditions to the Obsidian Maze, the UnderDark and several extraplanar destinations.

After retiring, he bought a house in the Strange Quarter, and used his accumulated fortune to continue his research into extraplaner poisons, paying his former guildmates and others to secure new samples for him. In recent years he has turned his attention to the exotic poisons of the UnderOerth, and is reportedly paying quite well for previously undiscovered samples. As a result of this research, he is easily the leading authority on extraplaner poisons in Obsidian Bay, and is respected for his knowledge of subterranean ones as well.
