Overview

Overview

Aaron Windstalker grew up in a small hamlet called Turnertown, which lies on the outskirts of the Pitchfield, the capital of the County of Sunni. He was the son of Illis Moonfield, an elven mage, and Kraus Windstalker, a human adventurer. The elder Windstalker was a light-hearted warrior who mixed sword play with magic for a number of years, eventually meeting the gray elf mage Illandra. After nearly five years of adventuring, they accumulated enough wealth to settle down in Turnertown, where they could pursue their magical research while raising a family. They had three children, with Aaron being the youngest. While his firstborn brother, Jalin, and his sister, Samantha, decided to stay home, Aaron choose to follow his parents adventuring path. He signed up with the Dragon Fire Guild, an adventuring guild in Pitchfield. He had just achieved the first level of experience in his triumvirate of mage, thief and fighter skills when he was drafted into the County’s military just prior to the Greyhawk Wars in the year C.Y. 584.

Aaron served in the County’s intelligence corps for two years, eventually rising to the rank of sergeant during the fight to force out the Great Kingdom’s invading Glorioles Army. With the end of the Wars, Aaron declined a hefty re-signing bonus from the Intelligence Corps – he found the rigors and discipline of a peace-time army too restrictive. Instead he decided to go out and see how the rest of the world faired during the Wars.

A sea fortress

Aaron signed on with a group of fellow adventurers heading out to sea from a South Province port Planting, C.Y. 586. The adventures included both Tanevir Calywyn and Kalib Ironfist, who was a native of the South Province.

Their ship was attacked by Scarlet Brotherhood pirates which they barely managed to drive off. Soon after the attack though, their ship was destroyed by a brutal storm. The group washed up onto the short of a fortified island ruled by an evil mage named Vladazeer. In its dungeon they found a halfling thief named Friddle. After some prolonged fighting, the group was able to force the mage to flee. They then used the halfing’s magical teleportation gem to go to the city of Obsidian Bay.

After arriving in Obsidian Bay, Aaron and his companions decided to sign up with the Blackrazor Guild one of the city’s many adventuring groups.
