Site Overview

Located near the old North Gate in the Inner City, the Farmers Guild Hall is a gathering place for prosperous rich plantation owners and poorer freeman who've managed to claim tracts of their own.

The Guild Hall proper is a large two-story building, with the lower floor given over to offices dedicated to handling member affairs, while the upper floor holds staff offices, sleeping quarters and guild records.

The Farmers Guild owns man of the buildings surrounding its main hall. One of these is an equistely furnished residence where the richer senior members often stay while in the city. Two other buildings serve as dormitories for poorer members to use during their own visits. The large open area behind the hall is typically home to an open air produce market, with stalls assigned to members based on a lottery system. This market area is cleared twice a year for the guild's membership meetings.

The market is heavily trafficked, and may have upwards of 400-500 people visiting it at any given time, with perhaps 50-60 guild members serving them. In recent years the leadership of the guild has hired a garrison of private guardsmen to protect the stalls from would-be thieves drifting in from deeper in the Mudsitters District. During times when the number of refuges increases in the city, the guild also hires on additional guard help from the Strongarm Guild or one of the adventuring guilds.
