Site Overview

Sidewinder Pass is a twisting, torturous passage from Obsidian Bay into the UnderOerth.

Its termination point is two miles from Obsidian Bay, but individual's must climb and struggle through nearly 4 miles of rough, barely accessible terrain to reach the end. The passage is rarely longer than five feet in diameter, and occasionally grows as small as three feet in diameter.

There are three small rooms scattered along its length, apparently carved out of the terrain by passersby. The entire area, however, is made far more dangerous by numerous vermin which wander its long passage way, and Ker-Dun tribe of kobolds which has claimed it as their own. The kobolds, as is their want to do, have littered the area with traps as well.

Movement in the Sidewinder Stretch is usually considered hampered for one reason or another, causing individuals to suffer a x2 movement modifier. Some areas are better or worse however.

Long thought lost, it was re-discovered in Obsidian Bay's sub-sewers by a group of adventurers in late CY 591. The adventurers did not penetarte far in the pass, but confirmed the existance of kobolds, as well as a dangerous stretch of caves lined with strange pinkish crystal rocks, which the humanoids appeared to be mining. This selfsame crystal also appeared in some odd gold-bound coins that the heroes recovered from slain kobolds.
