Stonheim has stood for centuries. It’s walls and buildings consist of stone mined from the Drachensgrabs and they’ve withstood countless battles, storms and threats. Turrosh Mak is known to stay in one of these manor houses during his visits to Stoneheim, rotating between them to throw off would-be assasins. The Lords alternate being honored by Mak's visit ... and worried that such a visit might mean he's going to kill one of them outright (as happened in the early days of Mak's empire, as a lesson to the other lords).

On Flocktime 15, 592 Turrosh Mak had the mad Suel Archmage [[Saver-ni]] release [[the Horror of Stoneheim]]. Mak had learned that the Lords of Stoneheim were planning to assassinate him. He was already in the process of preparing an attack on [[Waterton]], the freshwater source for [[Obsidian Bay]], and decided that releasing it would also be the perfect distraction from his true plans.

Unfortunately for him, Lord [[Tänévir Calywyn]] and the leaders of Obsidian Bay caught on Killing Mak in the process. However, the damage had already been done, as the Horror was released and Stoneheim lays in ruin.
