The half-orc monk Prug and his allies prepare to confront the men who ambushed and nearly killed him.

What Has Come Before

Upon returning from the failed expedition to the Sidewinder Pass, the half-orc monk Prug took the coin he'd earned and bought food to distribute to the poor of the Mudsitters District. While performing this good deed, he was attacked by unknown assailants who nearly killed him. Now, after much searching, Prug and his companions have determined exactly where these attackers are staying in the city: an inn in the Mudsitters District known as the Broken Shield.

The Saga

Harvester 4, 591

Salsar and Thom go to the Broken Shield, scout out the place, find nothing. Thom, apprehensive after getting wretched ale, leaves. Followed by a footpad, who teams up with Salsar to take down the "easy mark". Out on the treet, the footpad tries to take down Thom, but is surprised when Salsar slices through his spine, killing him instantly. Salsar then returns to the inn, tells the barkeep that Thom did the killing.

Barkeep is shocked, says he's got some friends who will hunt him down and kill him. Salsar inquires after whom they are. Finds out that they're upstairs, recently in from blue, talking about how they had to straighten a few things out in OB, and were looking back to returning to Blue.

Prug goes in, alieanates barkeep, sits down in center of bar. Barkeep sends for enforcers, who come down. Confront Prug ("You should have stayed dead"). Prug is surprised as many behind him gets up tries to covertly stab him, but is seen by most of the party.

The Tattoed man crushes Prug's leg, snapping the bone and dropping him unconscious.

Korash unleashes magic missile on the scarred man, hitting him. Scarred man throws a dagger back at him, missing. Salsar covertly tries to move into position to strike.

Two thugs rise up from a nearby table and attack Korash, one jumping over table, but missed.

Paladin rushes up, and cuts him down, sending blood splattering everywhere.

Thom jumps up onto a table, starts singing ballad about how evil can not triumph and about how you can't keep a good Prug down. The Ballad of Prug the Twice Fallen.

Then two rogues jump out, one slips in blood, missing Prug. Other goes after Thom, but misses badly.

Absalom tries to heal him, but fails while casting defensively. Then moves up, looking to pull Prug free. He sends his dog to bite an assassin, but the canine misses. Salsar lashes out with his great sword, killing him. Survivor tries to avenge his companion, hits Salsar, wounding him but not killing him.

Thom steps back on table, throws dagger at rogue killing him instantly. Absalom snags Prug, throws him out the window. Leader then attacks him, but misses him. Tattoed man tries to run out side, but paladin catches him with his great sword, horribly wounding him. Still, the man is able run, jumps onto the bar, slips, and falls to the floor, knocking himself unconscious.

Remaining fighter, knowing that pruge got thrown out the window, immediately runs outside and stands over monk's body. Paladin runs up to the rogue, attacks and hurt him badly. Thom runs out the door after the other assassin.

Absalom's dog rips out the leader's leg, killing him. "I'm going to do to him what I did to that prostitute" Meanwhile Absalom climbs out window and attacks assassin out in the alley, critically wounding and killing him.

Find 26 gold, 36 silver, 55 copper. Potion of disguise self (x3), potion of minor image (x1), potion of mage armor (x2), potion of cure light wounds. masterwork club, masterwork dagger (x3), masterwork leather armor (x2). scroll of Charm Person, Ring of Protection +1. 150 gp in chest.

Learn history of the breakers in Highport, and of the sorcerer/rogue Terminus. Mudd is terrified, tells them he doesn't know who hired him, but said Terminus had mentioned that Prug was stirring things up in the Mudsitters district forcing people to think.
