Saheed Darksteel has a long and storied history in Obsidian Bay, but it is known only to a few ... and that's the way the secretive, solitary shadowmancer likes it.
He is an expert in the magic of shadows and illusion, as well as the UnderOerth, particularly that region lying beneath the Pomarj pennisula, and is sometimes called upon to advise the Guild of Wizardry in these matters. He has exceptionally high stanards when it comes to the practice of magic, and as such, does not often take an apprentice, seeking only those who can match his intellectual prowes and how share his passion for the Shadow Arts.
In the fall of CY 591, he found such a student in the form of Vargas of Ralsend.
