At the Golden Swordsman Academy, Gruffudd is set about teaching his students in the ways of the Greatsword. One of his students, an arrogant wealthy son Launce Aquestiallon, does not feel the need for the Greatsword training. Hall of Justice

Capt. Oswall, of the city guard greets Sir Fawkes. He informs Fawkes that the Judge will see him soon. After a while he is taken in front of Judge Melwall. He introduces the defense, Captain Flamebolt of Midnight's Turn. He is the commander of the men Fawkes fought in front of fire-eaters the previous night. He claims his men were brought in as guards for a merchant. The boy they were pursuing was a thief they were trying to bring to justice. Fawkes scolds the men for not bringing this to his attention, but cannot refute the claim. The men of Midnight’s Turn are free to leave, and one gives Fawkes a dirty look as he does.

Academy Fight

Mica at the Temple

After getting directions a few times, Mica finds the temple of Ulaa. As he tries to take a peak inside, he is stopped by what looks like a street urchin. The boy, Kolborg, tells him the priests will be out for some time so he should come back later, much later. Mica asks who he is, and Kolborg informs the gnome that he is in charge of sweeping the steps. After a few minutes watching Kolborg, Mica is satisfied and heads off. On the way home he is assaulted by the same men from the previous night. As he falls into unconsciousness he hears "Tell your friends not to mess with our affairs."

Bare-fisted Fighting

Ernguard tries his had at bare-fisted fighting. After being forced into many laps around the arena, and lifting many heavy things, Ernguard asks to fight. Asking for a club, the burly men just laugh at Ernguard "No boy, with your fists!" Try as he might, Ernguard is no match for his much experienced competitor. He quickly drops, learning a new lesson.

Back to the Inn

Eventually everyone returns home. At Fire-eaters, Mica and Ernguard fight about the details of each other’s events. The night ends as Ernguard convinces Mica to come to the temple of Kord in the morning.
