What Has Come Before

The dragon known as the Green Blight is dead, killed by the Griffins Guild and their allies. The foul magic that allowed the Verdant Waste to run riot and enabled the dragon to rule the Viridescent Keep are dissipating.

Prince Selanor, minor noble of the Unseelie Court, has reclaimed his worldly seat in the Keep and with it, his role as the defender of the Green Way, an arcane portal to the Feywild.

Although he once pursued the Griffins through the outer and inner bands of the Verdant Waste as prey, he has recognized their bravery and skill in slaying the dragon. He has summoned them to his keep where he might reward them with choice items from the Green Blight's hoard.

The Saga

An unknown date and time

The Viridescent Keep was a great, towering tree, easily 300 feet tall. It's boughs form a cathedral-like space as they arch over the ground. The base of the tree was nearly 40 feet in diameter, featured a sunlight-gilded archway that led inside the tree.

The inside of the tree was larger than the outside. The central hallway was the Green Way -- the portal between the Prime Material Plane and the Feywild.

It was here, in the Grand Hall between realities -- that the heroes were called to a dinner with the Prince Selanor. They are praised for their unexpected -- but welcome -- role in defeating the Green Blight. Afterwards they were taken to the dragon's hoard, which the prince presents as a well-earned reward.

Magic Items

    • Ioun Stone of Protection:** You gain a +1 bonus to AC while this dusty rose prism that orbits your head. While it orbits, the prism refracts nearby light and causes a faint ruby halo to appear above the wearer's head.
    • Ring of Free Action:** While you wear this ring, difficult terrain doesn't cost you extra movement. In addition, magic can neither reduce your movement nor cause you to be paralyzed or restrained. The ring is carved from the bone of a dead god, and is etched with Githyanki runes representing liberation from death.
    • Instrument of the Bards (Mac-Fuirmidh cittern):** This stringed instrument has a motif of flowering vines. You can use an action to play the instrument and cast one fits spells. Once the instrument has been used to cast a spell, it can't be used to cast that spell again until the next dawn. The spells use your spell casting ability and spell save DC. Spells: Fly, Invisibility, Protection from Evil and Good, Barkskin, cure wounds, fog cloud.
      • Chain shirt of resistance (cold):*** This chain shirt is warm to the touch, and those who look closely at the links can see miniature blue flames flickering weakly within them. When targeted by a cold-based attack, harmless flames suddenly shroud the wearer. (Requires attunement).
    • Heavenfall:** +1 short sword crafted from meteoric iron. The black stone-like metal of the blade is incredibly dense and striated with the silver flecks. The sword is 1/3 heavier than one would expect. Once per day, the user can cast the equivalent of spell *hold person* (Wisdom save DC 13) as the weight of the heavens hold the individual in place. The sword regains the ability each day at midnight.
