The Griffin's Crier is home to several campaigns, all taking place in the World of Greyhawk between the years of CY 583 and CY 592. They are all part of a larger campaign that has been run by our gaming group since 1996, and is still active today. For Background information see the Timelines or Histories pages. Go to the Sagas page for individual adventure summaries .

Active Campaigns

Tales from the Tower Campaign

At it's base this campaign continuation of the Blackrazor Campaign, but the inclusion of the Obsidian Tower has allowed for heroes from across these pages to join in the adventures.

Obsidian Frontier Campaign

The group's 5E playtest finds us returning to Greyhawk; but back in time CY 515 to the "wild west" days of Obsidian Bay, just after it's founding.

Broken Land Campaign

NukeHavoc's lunchtime Greyhawk campaign, using 5E rules. It also takes place in Obsidian Bay, CY 515, but follows the adventures of a different group of characters.

Heart of Darkness Campaign

The first full 5E campaign jumps ahead in Greyhawk's timeline to CY 650. More to come; the campaign kicks off in early 2015.

Inactive Campaigns

Blade of Stars Campaign

The Blade of Stars Campaign chronicles the adventures of the proto-Blackrazors, the adventurers who spent the 570s hacking and slashing their way through the dungeons of the Flanaess alongside Brant Bladescream, the legendary Blackrazor Guild founder. The campaign is played once a year in honor of Gygax Day, and has featured epic crawls of White Plume Mountain, the Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth, and the Forgotten Temple of Tharizdun.

Dark City Campaign

A role-playing intensive, urban fantasy campaign set in Obsidian Bay. It features wholly new characters created for this campaign.

Planetorn Campaign

Our D&D 4th Edition playtest campaign, involving a chaos storm that's destroying alternative realities, and is threatening the very fabric of the multiverse!

Maure Castle Campaign

This campaign follows the Blackrazor Guild's exploration of the dungeon death trap that lies beneath the ruins of Maure Castle and their efforts to found a guild hall in Seltaren in the Duchy of Urnst.

Khelez-Mar Campaign

Also known as the Dwarven Campaign, this campaign revolves around the dwarven fortress of Khelez-mar in the Drachensgrab Mountains of the Pomarj. The fortress was liberated by the Blackrazor Guild, and a number of its dwarven contingent -- since retired from the guild -- now reside here.

Ravenloft Campaign

Based on the 'Expedition to Castle Ravenloft' book, this campaign is nominally set in Greyhawk, near the Bone March region of the eastern Flanaess.

Soul Stones Campaign

A young group of adventurers in Greyhawk City is brought together by happenstance only to discover that they each possess a 'good luck charm' that is more than it appears. The adventurers then set off across the World of Greyhawk hunting for more Soul Stones and attempting to unravel the mystery of the Tribe of the Hundred.

Completed Campaigns

Blackrazor Campaign

Our oldest campaign, the Blackrazor Campaign follows the adventures of its namesake Blackrazor Guild, an adventuring guild located in Obsidian Bay. This campaign includes the "Liberation of Geoff" sub-campaign, which saw the adventurers defeat the giant overlords of the Westmarks.

Pirates of the Vohoun Campaign

Our D&D 3rd Edition playtest campaign, set in the southern Vohoun Ocean.

Redshirts Campaign

Based on the Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil book, this campaign saw "redshirts" (expendable low-level followers) from the Blackrazor Guild on a quest to save the world from a terrible evil. The Maure Castle campaign is a loose sequel to this campaign, and features many of the same characters.

Second Darkness Campaign

The Second Darkness campaign follows Paizo's adventure path of the same name and converted to the Pathfinder RPG rules. It's the first non-Greyhawk fantasy campaign that our gaming group has played.

Westmarks Campaign

Set a few years after the Liberation of Geoff, where the Blackrazors are now Barron's. To aid the new Duke, they send their retainers to tie up some lose ends.
